The latest news from the City of Fremont's Human Services Department   Discover Opportunities for Post-Secondary Education Outside a Four-Year Degree. With school back in session, high schools across the Bay Area are hosting College/Career Fairs for students ready for the next phase of their lives. A four-year degree is valuable, but considering the cost and time commitment, not everyone is interested in a traditional university path. For students not attending a four-year university, how can we prevent them from falling into low-skilled, low-wage jobs? The City of Fremont Human Services Department developed the  Workforce Training Resource (WTR)  as a free tool for the community. The WTR offers a wide range of low-cost/free, short-term, post-secondary training and educational opportunities throughout the Bay Area, including Adult Regional Occupational Programs, Pre-Apprenticeships, Apprenticeships, nonp
