Dear District 1,

In 2024, my office launched a new initiative to serve one of our County's most vulnerable populations: our foster youth and their resource parents. We continue to remain committed to enhancing collaboration between service providers and connecting government, non-profit, educational, faith, and community leaders to wraparound foster families. Our series of town hall information nights continues in Dublin in February and we look forward to bringing together all of the wonderful resources that increase the success of our foster families and provide support to children and transitional-aged youth in the foster care system. Join us on February 25th at the Dublin Library Community Room to learn more about becoming a resource parent or how to support a resource parent and ways you can be an advocate for a foster child.

In addition, my office is proud to be hosting an Immigration Town Hall, bringing together experts and community leaders to discuss legal rights, available resources, and pathways to support. Join us for an informative session where you can ask questions, connect with advocacy organizations, and learn how to navigate immigration policies. The event will take place completely virtually on February 10th, 5:30-7:30pm, via online Webinar at this link. Different languages will be offered:

As always, if there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org

Sincerely,

Festival of Globe
76th Republic Day Event

Republic Day

I had the honor of attending Festival of Globe's 76th Republic Day celebration! Deep respect to all the Indo-American organizations commemorating India's journey as a sovereign democratic republic and upholding the commitment to Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity—principles enshrined in the Constitution on January 26, 1950.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Earlier in January, the Youth Mental Health Aid Training in Fremont was a success! Grateful to Fremont USD for the venue and Alameda County Office of Education for the incredible trainers.

A room full of dedicated teacher aides, coaches, parent volunteers, counselors, and more spent the day learning how to recognize and support struggling youth. Their energy and commitment were inspiring!
