Foreclosure filings nationwide dropped 14 percent last month to their lowest
level since February of 2008, according to data just released by RealtyTrac.
One in every 577 U.S. homes received a filing during the second month of
2011, as default notices, scheduled auctions, and new REOs all hit their
lowest readings in more than a year and a half.
