Second Quarter Installment of Property Taxes Coming Due

The second installment of California property taxes was due on February 1st and becomes delinquent if not received by 5:00 p.m. on April 10, 2026. Late payments are subject to a 10% penalty plus a $10–$20 administrative fee. If April 10 falls on a weekend, the deadline extends to the next business day, with delinquency occurring at 5:00 p.m. that day. Set a reminder to avoid penalties.
HOW TO PAY
Property taxes are paid to the county treasurer's office where the property is located.
You can find your county assessor / treasurer website here: https://www.sunilsethi.com/property-tax
Payment options include online, phone, mail, or in person.
If you pay by mail, a USPS postmark generally serves as proof of timely payment in most California counties.
Only a U.S. Postal Service cancellation mark is accepted as valid evidence of on-time mailing in most counties.
