Prices are moving up fast.   From DS news   Case-Shiller Indices Rise at Fastest Pace Since 2006 Home prices rose at their fastest pace since July 2006, according to the Case-Shiller 10- and 20-city Home Price Indices, Standard & Poor's reported Tuesday. At the same time, the Case-Shiller national index, reported quarterly, registered its strongest gain since Q2 2006. The 10- and 20-city index each rose 0.2 percent in December, reversing declines in November. Year-over-year, the 10-city index was up 5.9 percent and the 20-city index rose 6.8 percent. The national index was up 7.3 percent year-over-year. Marijuana Grower Buested in Glenmoor

#4079 Marijuana Grow Officer Ceniceros responded to a suspicious circumstance at 37500 block of Glenmoor. PGE had gone to the location and found that the power to the building had been bypassed. A strong smell or marijuana was emitting from the location. The Major Crimes Unit was contacted. Record-low inventories, steady list prices indicate top markets for buyers, sellers

Realtor.com recently released its January data on the U.S. housing market showing that listing inventories decreased 16.47 percent year-over-year; median age of inventory was at 108 days, a 9.24 percent decrease year-over-year; and median list prices are slightly higher increasing .80 percent year-over year to $187,000. The findings indicate opportunities in local markets for both buyers and sellers. "E-NEWS" News From the New Haven Unified School District   Third-Graders Do Great Job on Essays Participation doubled this year in an essay challenge that was part of a local real estate agent's annual project to provide every New Haven third-grader with a dictionary.   For the past seven years, agent Sunil Sethi and his partner, former New Haven teacher Steven Fong , have purchased approximately 1,000 dictionaries and delivered them to each of the District's elementary schools. Their partners this year were insurance agent Kristie Turner , Risha Kilaru of Prospect Mortgage and the office of Alameda County Supervisor Richard Valle .   Last year, the partners introduced an essay challenge for the students, and this year the challenge attracted entries from about 30 percent of the District's third-graders, up from about 15 percent last year.
