E-News for Tuesday, February 26, 2019 The New Haven Unified School District is Seeking the Community's Input in its Search for a Superintendent. In January, New Haven Unified Superintendent Dr. Arlando Smith announced his intent to retire at the end of this 2018-19 school year.  The Board has begun its search for a new, highly qualified Superintendent of Schools. In order to facilitate that search, the District has secured the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., an executive search firm, the same firm which was used in the District's last, successful search for a superintendent. The search firm will be meeting with various stakeholders throughout the community to gain their input in regards to what qualities and characteristics they are looking for in a Superintendent.  The firm will host community forums in order to solicit community input. Together, they are exploring new, environmentally appropriate alternatives for a high-quality, high-capacity public transit system.
