3 percent down loans approved by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

I’m not a fan of low down payment loans for home purchases, because I like to see people have equity in game. Consumer optimism is now the highest since the housing bubble burst.

From DS News     Homebuyer sentiment soars Consumer sentiment in California rose in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2014. Surveyed consumers are more optimistic about future economic conditions in Q4 2014 than in the prior quarter, according to Chapman University’s California Consumer Sentiment Survey. Consumer optimism is now the highest it’s been since the housing bubble burst. 3% Down payment from Freddie and Fannie is back. Check with your lender

So the down payment option is reduced from 3.5% that FHA requires. FHA also requires a 1.75% upfront MI fee and a monthly MI fee. Not sure how this will compare.   Right now the most interesting low down program is from Wells Fargo. New Homes Sales Up in October
