Unfortunately for buyers the shortage in supply and high demand from buyers is causing prices to rise. Yesterday we got the news that a townhome that was asking $550k went pending for $618k with no contingencies. This is more than 10% higher than what it would have sold for last year.   More from DS News 2014 Home Sales Depend on Strong Job Market Freddie Mac released its latest Economic and Housing Market Outlook, expecting home sales to grow along with wages this year, despite a still-tough job market in most sectors. Freddie is projecting a 3 percent rise in home sales and a 20 percent rise in new home construction in 2014, which the agency expects to level out to a 5 percent overall growth. »READ MORE     - S unil Sethi SUNIL SETHI REAL ESTATE Helping Families Find Homes with Great Schools in Fremont, Newark and Union City. Read on for details.  Table Source: Vantage Production, LLC Despite the harsh winter weather, 175,000 jobs were created in February. This was above the 163,000 expected, and the largest gain in three months. In addition, there were revisions to the numbers for December and January, adding 25,000 more job creations than were previously reported. The unemployment rate ticked up to 6.7 percent from 6.6 percent, while the labor force participation rate (LFPR) remained at 63.0 percent.
