Hopefully it's signed into law soon. Senate Acts on Mortgage Market Changes: On Tuesday (5/20) the Senate Banking Committee voted to pass the Federal Housing Finance Regulatory Reform Act of 2008. This bill includes changes to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA including a permanent increase in the conforming loan limit. Earlier this month the House of Representatives passed their version of the bill. The Senate bill also includes a refinancing program that assists homeowners dealing with foreclosures.

Bayeast's official position on Prop's 98 & 99 YES on Proposition 98 and NO on Proposition 99: C.A.R. asks REALTORS® to support Proposition 98 and oppose Proposition 99 when they vote on June 3. Proposition 98 would ban the use of eminent domain to take any private property – including homes, business and farms – for another private use. Proposition 99, on the other hand, is designed to maintain the status quo and only offers limited protection from eminent domain. ATTENTION FREMONT AND HAYWARD REALTORS®: The City of Fremont is considering an ordinance that could ban second-story additions and the City of Hayward is working on a "green building" ordinance that could impact new construction and remodeling. Both of these proposed ordinances will have a direct impact on private property rights and real estate. Officials from Fremont and Hayward will be making presentations about these ordinances at the Local Government Relations Council meeting on Tuesday, May 27 at 10:00am. The meeting will be held in the Bay East Board Room at 7901 Stoneridge Dr. If you do business in either Fremont or Hayward please attend this meeting to learn more about both ordinances and to let the city officials know what you think.

I'm always looking for bargains in good school districts. I saw a beautiful home in San Ramon's Windemere community with almost 3900 living space asking $950,000. It's bank owned. This will go fast. call me if you're interested.
