Alameda County Board of Education is There to Help

I learned at a meeting this morning in Fremont with County Supervisor Nadia Lockyer and Alameda County Board of Education President Eileen McDonald some of the purposes that the County Board of Education serves.  The most important that I think the public should be aware of is they are the appeals court for the school districts.  If you are denied a interdistrict transfer, you can appeal the school districts’ decision and plead your case to the  County Board of Education.  The board can help you in overriding the decision if they feel you have a good reason.    They also hear cases for expulsion appeals.
