The 20th Assembly District is one of the most diverse and educated districts in the state of California. But with reports indicating that many high school drop outs become disinterested in pursuing an education as early as middle school, encouraging good study habits and fostering a positive educational experience are more important now than ever. Recognizing this need, Cesar Chavez Middle School and I invite you to learn how you can help put your children on the path to success at our “Middle School College Fair” for students and families in the New Haven Unified School District from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on October 2, 2012, at Cesar Chavez Middle School, located at 2801 Hop Ranch Road, in Union City. Our goal for this program is to reach out to students and families and provide you with important information about their college options as early as possible. This is an opportunity for families like yours to be introduced to colleges in the area and their academic requirements. Counselors and advisers will be on hand to show you how to financially prepare for the college journey and to take advantage of the many resources available. Our Middle School College Fair aims to inspire the students in our community to succeed. Services will be provided in both Spanish and English. If you have any questions or comments, please contact my District Office in Fremont at (510) 440-9030. I am proud to serve as your representative in the California State Legislature. I hope you can join me next Tuesday, October 2 at Cesar Chavez Middle School at 5 p.m. Sincerely, Bob Wieckowski |
