New Haven Teachers and Students Continue to Benefit from DonorsChoose Projects

Emanuele Elementary School Science Teacher, Mike Wassum, recently had his DonorsChoose project funded to the impending delight of all Emanuele students.  Mr. Wassum will be receiving a Promethean Activote Student Response System, an interactive classroom surveying tool.  Each student receives a handheld interface which allows him/her to electronically submit an answer to teacher questions.  ActiVote encourages classroom participation by giving students a tool to answer every question, individually.

Emanuele Second-Grade Teacher, Sara Maes, also had a project funded.  She will be receiving two additional collaborative tables in addition to the two she already has. These tables take the place of traditional desks and promote conversation and cooperative learning in the classroom.

DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on the site, and you can give any amount to the project that most inspires you.  Interested community members who would like to donate towards New Haven projects can visit DonorsChoose.org and enter "94587" in the zip code box on "Projects near me".
