The Fremont 4th of July Parade

Community: The Fremont 4th of July Parade will take place Saturday, July 4, 2014 from 10 am - 12 pm The Fremont 4th of July Parade will take place Saturday, July 4, 2014 from 10 am - 12 pm. The Fremont Police Department has issued a Special Event Permit for the 2015 Fremont 4th of July Parade. This year’s parade will take place in the City’s Downtown District and will feature more than 60 parade entries, including giant helium balloons, colorful patriotic floats, marching bands and equestrian units. The parade will begin on Saturday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. and is anticipated to last approximately two hours. Several major roadways will be closed during the parade, so please plan ahead. Stevenson Blvd. between Civic Center Drive and Paseo Padre Pkwy will close at 7:00 a.m.. Dear Sunil Sethi, Yesterday we put out a lengthy community message regarding recent package thefts in our community.  Here are some tips we think will help keep your deliveries safe: Protect Incoming Mail and Packages: Promptly retrieve your mail: The United States Postal Inspection Service strongly recommends that you pick up mail from your mailbox as soon as possible after delivery, especially if you are expecting to receive a check or merchandise. Replace your mailbox with one that has a locking device. The U.S. Postal Service can hold your mail if you'll be traveling during the holidays. Use your workplace as the shipping address or ship to a location where someone is always home. Track your shipments by phone or online so that you know what day they should arrive.   Board Briefs for Tuesday, June 2, 2015   On Tuesday, June 2, the Board held a public meeting to allow for Board and community input on the District's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).  The LCAP is intended to be a comprehensive planning tool for the District and describes goals and specific actions to achieve those goals for all students and each subgroup of students identified.  Documents related to the District's LCAP can be found here .  Co-Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Arlando Smith, outlined for the Board a number of goals that have been and will continue to drive the LCAP in New Haven: Increase the number of students who are college and career ready.
