Ride-On Tri-City! is launching a new partnership with AC Transit to bring its Wheelchair Marking and Tether Strap Program to the Tri-City area. The program is a free service to community members who use wheelchairs (manual or electric) and scooters. Program staff will identify and mark the securement points on mobility devices so that individuals using these devices can be properly secured on transit buses, paratransit vans, or private vehicles.
AC Transit will offer appointments for its Wheelchair Marking and Tether Strap servicer at the Ride-On Tri-City! office (Fremont City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave. Building B, Fremont) on a quarterly basis, beginning on Friday, July 26th from 9 am - 12 noon. To schedule an appointment call: 510-891-7113.
Individuals coming in for a Wheelchair Marking and Tether Strap appointment will have an opportunity to meet with Ride-On Tri-City! staff to discuss transportation option for their day-to-day needs.

The City of Fremont, Human Services Department developed the Workforce Training Resource (WTR) as a free tool for the community providing information on low-cost, short-term, post-secondary training and educational opportunities throughout the Bay Area.
A variety of training opportunities for adults at different points in their careers are included. The site also includes financial aid, resources for entrepreneurs, Bay Area growth industries, salary data, and Labor Market Information (LMI).

With warmer weather here, the needs of our unhoused neighbors change. The City is continuing its partnership with Bay Area Community Services (BACS) and asking the community to donate items our unhoused neighbors need during these warmer months. Donated items will be distributed through City programs and services, such as the Safe Parking Program and the Housing Resource Center. Items will also be shared with BACS to ensure they get to those who need them as quickly as possible.
An updated Homeless Services Needs List is available for those interested in donating items. The items most needed are the following: - Sunscreen
- Bottled water
- T-shirts
- Light pants
- Tents
All clothing items should be in adult sizes from small to XXXL. Drop-off locations and hours are listed on the Homeless Services Needs List. No appointment is necessary. City of Fremont Age Well Centers are looking for volunteers to help provide the evidence-based fall prevention program, A Matter of Balance (MOB). The MOB program is designed to help people manage concerns about falls and increase physical activity. This training will certify instructors or Coaches to lead classes. If you are interested in becoming a Coach, a free training is being held from August 27-28, 2024, 12:30-5pm each day. The training will be held in-person in San Leandro and covers all that is necessary to teach A Matter of Balance in-person. You will be scheduled to lead the class at one of our Age Well Centers.
