Tracking Climate Ready Fremont

Adopted in October 2023, Climate Ready Fremont is more than just a climate action plan; it's a commitment to addressing climate change in Fremont. To emphasize this, we've started tracking the progress of key strategies and actions outlined in the plan. Using our Climate Ready Fremont webpage, we're tracking the progress of the priority strategies and actions included in the plan that we aim to implement within the first three years. The strategies and actions are organized by focus area. Check out the webpage and our progress so far!

Celebrate Coastal Cleanup Day

Join us this Saturday, September 21 as we celebrate the 40th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day! Be part of a global movement with over 9 million volunteers by helping to clean up litter and debris from our local waterways.

While most of the City's cleanup events are already full, we are still encouraging families, businesses, and community groups to organize their own cleanup events any time during September. Track and report your collected trash using the Ocean Conservancy's Clean Swell app to contribute to statewide goals!

For more information, visit the City's Coastal Cleanup Day webpage.

To everyone who is planning to volunteer, thank you! We appreciate your help in keeping Fremont's waterways clean and healthy.

Heat Pump Water Heater Contractor Incentive Program

Contractors can now get paid to install high-efficiency heat pump water heaters and help their Fremont customers save on long-term energy costs. Ava Community Energy (Ava), Fremont's electricity provider, is offering an incentive that pays contractors $1,000 directly every time they install a heat pump water heater in Ava's service territory, which includes Fremont. For eligibility requirements, visit Ava's program webpage. Incentives are available for qualifying equipment purchased July 23, 2024 through March 31, 2025 or while program funds last.
