Greetings from Supervisor Haubert

Dear District 1,

As your Alameda County District 1 Supervisor, I have the pleasure of representing the incredible Livermore Valley AVA Wine Country, and I am thrilled to share with you a vision of mine for this top-notch wine region. I set out to create a network of sister wine region partners—like sister cities, but for wine—and after spending 2024 working diligently to research and reach out to prospective partners, the vision became reality this past January with the launch of the Global Artisan Vintners Alliance (Global AVA).

Headquartered in Livermore and co-led by my office and the Livermore Valley Wine Community, this global wine region alliance is about much more than wine—it's about economic development, agri-tourism, and creating opportunities for global exposure of the participating wine regions. The nine co-founding wine regions leading the Global AVA are in the United States, Mexico, Portugal, France, Croatia, Hungary, Argentina, & Brazil. You can learn more & follow their journey on Instagram/Facebook @theglobalava, LinkedIn at "The Global AVA - Artisan Vintners Alliance," and by subscribing to their quarterly newsletter: https://bit.ly/43KT6oh.

I encourage you to explore the contents of this newsletter to learn more about important events and updates in District 1.

As always, if there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org

Sincerely,

Community Forums for Older Adults in Alameda County

community forums

I would like to share a series of upcoming Community Forums designed to uplift the voices of older adults across Alameda County. These listening sessions are an important opportunity for residents, providers, and community partners to come together and share insights, experiences, and ideas that will shape the County's age-friendly planning efforts.

These forums are open to older adults, caregivers, service providers, community organizations, hospitals, community leaders, and all stakeholders interested in improving the lives of older adults in our county.

Let's work together to fill these listening rooms and ensure that a wide range of voices and experiences are represented.

NACO Achievement Award

nacoseal

We are proud to announce that the Tri-Valley Seek and Save Auto Program has been selected as the 2025 National Association of Counties Achievement Award Best in Class winner in the Transportation category.

Our Tri-Valley Seek and Save Auto Program is a partnership with non-profit Tri-Valley Seek and Save which provides essential car repairs and vehicle donations to low-income families in the Tri-Valley area, ensuring access to reliable transportation for work, school, and daily necessities. Through this initiative, our focus has been to uplift low-income families and individuals that are underserved and do not have access to the resources needed to have reliable transportation for families who rely on their vehicle to support their livelihood. A vehicle for some serves as a lifeline for individuals who do not have a home, it makes the difference between sleeping on the street versus in a safe space.

More Information about
Tri-Valley Seek & Save

tvss

I would like to recognize Tri-Valley Seek & Save for their work. Beyond their Auto Program, Tri-Valley Seek & Save (TVSS) is a local faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving single mothers and their children through compassion, connection, and community outreach.

I was honored to support Tri-Valley Seek & Save in hosting a powerful "New Memories" event for local youth. Many students experienced their first time on a boat and caught their first fish, all while building lasting memories in a supportive, faith-centered environment.

Thank you to the incredible organizers at Tri-Valley Seek & Save, volunteers, and partners for making this day of joy and hope possible, as well as the ongoing contributions you make to the community.

55 hr. Highway Closures On I-680 at the Mission San Jose (SR-238) Overpass in Fremont

Rescheduled to Weekends of July 25 & August 8, 2025

caltrans

Caltrans will close one direction of Interstate 680 (I-680) at the I-680 and Mission San Jose (SR-238) Separation/Overpass in Fremont for two weekends to perform critical bridge and pavement work. Segment of Southbound I-680 will close the weekend of July 25, 2025, and will close a segment of Northbound I-680 weekend of August 8, 2025.

These 55-hour closures are necessary to safely and efficiently complete key construction activities, including full bridge deck resurfacing and approach slab repairs. This phase of work involves heavy machinery and the resurfacing of the entire bridge deck. This work must be performed without live traffic to ensure worker and motorists safety. Concentrating these operations during weekend closures will help reduce the overall duration and impact of the project.

During these weekend closures, only one direction of travel on I-680 will be closed at a time with detours set in place. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternative routes.
