Economic Development Business Connect

economicroundtable

I am proud of our office for hosting a successful Economic Development Business Connect event that brought together nearly 80 local business leaders for a dynamic roundtable discussion. Attendees heard directly from a diverse panel of speakers representing sectors such as healthcare, technology, development, and more, who shared insights on industry trends, growth opportunities, and regional collaboration. The event fostered meaningful dialogue and connections among business owners, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from across the district. We're proud to support these conversations that strengthen our local economy and ensure District 1 remains a hub for innovation and inclusive growth.

55 hr. Highway Closures On I-680 at the Mission San Jose (SR-238) Overpass in Fremont

Rescheduled to Weekends of July 25 & August 8, 2025

caltrans

Caltrans will close one direction of Interstate 680 (I-680) at the I-680 and Mission San Jose (SR-238) Separation/Overpass in Fremont for two weekends to perform critical bridge and pavement work. Segment of Southbound I-680 will close the weekend of July 25, 2025, and will close a segment of Northbound I-680 weekend of August 8, 2025.

These 55-hour closures are necessary to safely and efficiently complete key construction activities, including full bridge deck resurfacing and approach slab repairs. This phase of work involves heavy machinery and the resurfacing of the entire bridge deck. This work must be performed without live traffic to ensure worker and motorists safety. Concentrating these operations during weekend closures will help reduce the overall duration and impact of the project.

During these weekend closures, only one direction of travel on I-680 will be closed at a time with detours set in place. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternative routes.
