FREE 5TH ANNUAL LET'S TALK HOUSING FAIR 2023

 

A-1 Community Housing Services' 5th Annual Let's Talk Housing Seminar takes place Saturday November 4th, 2023, from 9:-00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Chabot College in Hayward. This Housing Fair is FREE for anyone curious of owning a home, in the process of buying a home, or who currently owns one and needs assistance. There will also be assistance available for those who are currently renting. A-1 Community Housing Services also offers credit counseling for those who are struggling with credit or not sure how to improve it. They will also have guest speakers from Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and other organizations.

A-1 Community Housing Services will also be hosting a SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE. They are collecting funds for 2 teachers at Cherryland Elementary School in Hayward for their 2nd and 6th grade classes. Any donations you can give will be greatly appreciated. You can donate any time before or during the housing seminar simply stop by the office at 22320 Foothill Blvd., #200, Hayward, CA between 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and drop off the donation.  Leave your contact information to receive a tax-exempt form later this year.

A client was asking my how they could reduce they MAGI (modified adjusted gross income), below the $150,000 threshold for Married Filing Jointly. The answer was I don't practice as a CPA anymore. Having said, that I was still curious, so the the only way to reduce MAGI which is AGI (line 37 on the bottom of page 1 of the 2008 form 1040) is to reduce taxable income (defer income or increase 401k withholding) or increase the deductions to get to AGI (which are IRA, SEP and Healthcare account deductions).
