FREMONT, CA — A flood watch is in effect for Fremont starting at 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, as an Atmospheric River takes aim at the Bay Area. In fact, rain is a possibility six of the next seven days.
The City of Fremont has stocked sandbags and sand at several locations. Bring your own shovel, and it's best to have two people get the sandbags since it's easier to fill them if one person holds the bag while the other person shovels in the sand. Limit: 10 bags per home or business.
Here is a list of sandbag locations:
- City Maintenance Center, 42551 Osgood Road, Fremont, CA 94539
- Fire Station No. 5, 55 Hackamore Lane Fremont, CA 94539
- Fire Station No. 10, 5001 Deep Creek Road Fremont, CA 94555
