Foster Family Support & Prospective Parent Town Hall

Foster Family

Mark your calendars to save the date for our next Foster Family Support & Prospective Resource Parent Town Hall. Join me in hearing from our County's Social Services Agency about the process to become Resource Parent/s to children in the foster care system. If you have ever considered providing housing and support to a child needing love, safety, and guidance, please join us to learn about the need for Resource Parents and the process of becoming one. Hear from current Resource Parents, get your questions answered, and leave with a better understanding of the next step to take if you want to open your heart and home to a foster child. Additionally, if you are not able or ready to become a Resource Parent, but you want to learn about other ways to support foster kids and foster families, this Town Hall is absolutely for you too. Anyone wanting to learn more about foster care and supporting those in it is welcome. Please RSVP.

Caltrans will close one direction of Interstate 680 (I-680) at the I-680 and Mission San Jose (SR-238) Separation/Overpass in Fremont for two weekends to perform critical bridge and pavement work. Segment of Southbound I-680 will close the weekend of July 25, 2025, and will close a segment of Northbound I-680 weekend of August 8, 2025.

These 55-hour closures are necessary to safely and efficiently complete key construction activities, including full bridge deck resurfacing and approach slab repairs. This phase of work involves heavy machinery and the resurfacing of the entire bridge deck. This work must be performed without live traffic to ensure worker and motorists safety. Concentrating these operations during weekend closures will help reduce the overall duration and impact of the project.

During these weekend closures, only one direction of travel on I-680 will be closed at a time with detours set in place. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternative routes.
